Also, using thinner oils such as 0w20 or 0w30 on turbocharged engines that use 5w30 or 5w40 is beneficial to the turbos, because thinner oil will flow quicker and transfer the heat away from the turbo quicker. Many people think because they have a turbo engine, they should step the viscosity up a notch from let's say 5w30 to 5w40, but by doing
AMSOIL 0W-30, 5W-30 and 10W-30 synthetic motor oils are ALL 30 weight oils. The answer is that ANY one can be used regardless of the vehicle owners manual recommendation. To better understand, in a 5W-30 oil, the "W" stands for winter performance. In winter weather the 0W oil will flow like a 0W oil, and the 5W will flow like a 5W oil and a 10W
As far as finding Elixion 5W-30, please refer to our web page (www.castrol.com) or contact our Customer Service line at 1-800-462-0835. Both GTX Diesel and Elixion are API CJ-4 performing engine oils. However, GTX Diesel is a conventional mineral oil formulation whereas Elixion is a full synthetic motor oil.

Based off of 40c and 100c values I pulled off Liquimoly spec sheets. Couldn't fit the top range viscosity in the pic but it's much closer at 100c. 0w20 (8.1), 0w30 (11.9), and 5w-30 (12.2) I'll probably use 0w30 after seeing this, seeing as it still is a bit thicker than 0w20 at colder ranges, without being as drastic as 5w30

5w40 is more viscous than 5w30. V5w30 has a viscosity rate of five, while V5w30 has a viscosity rate of thirty. This means that 5w30 has a lower viscosity rate of five, while V5w30 has a higher viscosity rate of thirty. 5w40, on the other hand, has a viscosity rate of 30% and a viscosity rate of 40%.
